Site 111 is a backcountry campsite in Everglades National Park, set within the mangrove and coastal wilderness that defines the park's remote southern waterways. Reaching it by kayak or canoe takes visitors deep into terrain that few people ever see — a reward in itself for those willing to plan and paddle the distance.
The Everglades backcountry camping experience is defined by its extremes: intense heat and wildlife abundance in summer, perfect skies and ideal paddling conditions in winter. Site 111 is a gateway into that experience. Backcountry permits are required and can be obtained from the National Park Service.
