Black Neck Stork
The Black-Necked Stork is a tall, elegant wading bird native to South and Southeast Asia and Australia, and its striking appearance — glossy black neck and head, brilliant white body, and vivid red legs — makes it one of the more visually memorable birds at Zoo Miami in Richmond West.
As the only stork native to Australia, it carries a certain rarity value even among knowledgeable birders. The combination of size, color contrast, and graceful movement makes the Black-Necked Stork a rewarding exhibit to linger near, particularly for photography or quiet observation.
