Harpy Eagle

The Harpy Eagle is the most powerful eagle in the Americas and one of the most awe-inspiring birds you can see at Zoo Miami in Richmond West. With a wingspan wide enough to span a door frame, massive talons capable of exerting extraordinary grip force, and a distinctive facial disc that channels sound like an owl, the harpy eagle commands instant respect. This apex predator hunts tree-dwelling mammals in the rainforest canopy and is endangered across much of its range.
