South Pointe Park Lighthouse stands at the southern tip of Miami Beach, marking the point where the Atlantic Ocean meets Government Cut — the deep-water channel through which cruise ships and cargo vessels pass in and out of Miami's port. The lighthouse is a navigational landmark with a long history, and its setting inside South Pointe Park makes it one of the more scenic corners of South Beach. The park surrounding the lighthouse is one of the finest in Miami Beach — landscaped, breezy, and facing one of the best views of the Miami skyline from the water's edge. It's an easy and rewarding walk from the hotel strip, and a favorite of both early-morning joggers and afternoon picnickers.
